The Surprise That Showed Up at Our Stables: Meet Diesel

Some mornings start quietly… and some mornings end with a brand-new horse standing in your barn.

This one definitely wasn’t quiet.

I began the day the way I usually do — walking the dogs by the lake, enjoying the cool air, and squeezing in a little video editing. Nothing unusual. Nothing suspicious. Nothing that would suggest I was in for a large surprise!

But the moment Karine came home later with that look on her face… I knew something was coming. What I didn’t know was that the “something” would have four hooves and the gentlest eyes you’ve ever seen.

Yep. She brought home a horse. A whole horse. That I apparently now co-own. 😄

And honestly? I wouldn’t change a thing.

Meet Diesel: The Rescue Who Needed a Second Chance

Diesel is an older auction rescue — rough around the edges, underweight, and carrying the kind of tiredness you only see in a horse who’s been through more than he should’ve.

But Karine saw something in him instantly.

It’s one of the things I love most about her: when an animal needs help, she doesn’t hesitate. Diesel didn’t stand a chance of going home with anyone but her. He was coming with us, whether I knew about it yet or not.

And just like that… our herd grew by one.
