Every rescue has a turning point. For Olive, it was surviving the kill pen as a young, vulnerable filly. We looked past the fear and saw her true potential. After years of dedicated training and care, she has blossomed into the breathtaking, spirited mare you see today. She might be our youngest troublemaker, but she is living proof that every horse deserves a second chance at paradise.

The Story of Lilly 
Before she became the heart of our ranch, Lilly was fighting for survival. Found tied up and starving, she was nothing but skin and bone when we first answered her ad. Karine fell in love with her the exact moment they met and promised her a better life. Through endless patience, structured nutrition, and continuous devotion, Lilly achieved a breathtaking recovery. She is proof that love can heal the deepest wounds, and she rewards us every day by being the absolute sweetest soul in the pasture.

The Story of Ellie Mae 
True rescue work isn't always easy—it requires absolute devotion. Ellie Mae came to us from a kill pen, carrying a skittish nature and a fear of the unknown. Karine stepped in to show her what safety felt like, building an unbreakable bond step by step. Even after a severe accident where Ellie Mae spooked and Karine lost half her thumb, our commitment to her never shifted. Ellie Mae has learned to leave her fears behind and completely trust the human hand. She is loved with all our hearts, proving true bonds exist!

Meet Guss 
Affectionately known as "Guss Guss," this very sweet boy came to us from the kill pen, bearing the heavy scars of a hard-working past and severely damaged feet. After countless vet visits, specialized lab tests, and a major financial investment, we uncovered the root cause: Cushing’s disease. Through meticulous medication adjustments, we successfully cleared his laminitis. Because Cushing’s prevents him from shedding naturally, we shave his coat frequently to keep him safe and cool in the Texas heat. He is a resilient warrior who proves that with the right care, any horse can thrive.​

The Story of Pee Wee 
Pee Wee may be small, but his spirit is absolutely unbreakable. When we answered his call from the kill pen, he was a tiny boy fighting severe malnourishment and advanced laminitis. We immediately stepped in, completely reconstructed his diet, and nursed his feet back to health. Watching his painful steps turn into joyful trots has been one of our greatest rewards. Pee Wee made a miraculous recovery, leaving his dark past behind to become a thriving, deeply loving little horse who follows Karine everywhere!

Meet Rojo 
Affectionately known as "Roger," this handsome boy came to us from a busy home where several young children rode him bareback. Though he wasn't sick, he lacked proper shelter and the ideal ranch life he deserved. We brought him home as a companion for Pee Wee, and despite both being stallions, they formed an unbreakable bond—wherever Rojo goes, Pee Wee is right behind him! Rojo also serves as the proud guardian for a couple of ranch goats who find safety and comfort in his gentle shadow.

Meet Huckleberry 
Huckleberry has one of the most unique stories on the ranch! We first met him as a tiny baby at the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, where he was being used for children’s photographs. Karine completely fell in love during our photo session, and by the end of the day, we walked away with him and another baby goat! Today, this inquisitive, highly intelligent little guy is thriving in the good life and loves spending his days hanging out with his massive best friend, Rojo.​

Meet Billy 
Meet Billy, the ultimate mastermind behind all barnyard mischief! The second half of our Fort Worth Stockyards package deal, Billy never grew his horns, but that doesn't stop him from constantly bumping heads with his brother, Huckleberry. While he takes a minute to warm up to new faces compared to his brother, he absolutely loves attention once he knows you—and he is completely obsessed with his food. If the barn is a total mess, you can bet with absolute certainty that Billy was behind it!

Meet Wyett 
Wyett is our big boy and the undisputed leader of our 6-dog ranch pack! We originally brought him home as a puppy to be a friend for Tucker, rescuing him from a small apartment where he had no room to run. He traded those four walls for the ultimate acreage lifestyle. Wyett is fiercely intelligent, adventurous, and goes almost everywhere with us. He is an absolute water fanatic who loves trips to the lake and regularly swims in our pool! Despite his size, he still thinks he's a tiny puppy!

Meet Tucker 
Tucker is a handsome Lab-Pei mix who serves as the official watchdog and "informer" of our 6-dog ranch pack! We brought him home as a puppy from a very neglectful environment where he was battling severe stomach worms. After getting him the medicine and 100% focused care he needed, he bounced back into a thriving, healthy boy. He later overcame an intensive entropion surgery to correct his inward-growing eyelids—a classic Shar-Pei trait—and never looked back. Today, this incredibly sweet, well-mannered gentleman loves going for car rides, visiting the store, and keeping a watchful eye over the entire ranchette!

Meet Gunner 
Gunner is our high-flying ranch athlete and a true pound-to-paradise success story! Adopted from the shelter as part of a trio with his two brothers, he was incredibly skittish and overwhelmed at first. With patience and love, he slowly found his footing and integrated perfectly into our 6-dog pack. Today, Gunner is a deeply loving little guy who runs faster than a speeding bullet and leaps through the air like Superman to catch a ball. Yet, despite his incredible agility, his favorite hobby is gently carrying around his collection of plush stuffed animals—the sweet boys we proudly call his "babies."

Meet Cooper 
Cooper is Gunner's brother and a truly miraculous survivor. After learning of a tragic outcome for their third sibling at the pound, we knew we had to go back and save Cooper. Shortly after bringing him home, he came down with a severe case of distemper. Following intensive, costly medical treatment, he beat the odds and fully recovered! Today, Cooper is a sweet teddy bear! Though never formally trained, he has an insatiable love for fetching and will always bring a ball straight to your feet. Because of his rough past, he is prone to getting sick easily, so we stay on top of his care with regular vet visits to ensure he stays healthy, happy, and loved.

Meet Mazy 
Mazy is our resident "break-out artist" and a living miracle. While we were at the pound rescuing Cooper, we looked over and saw Mazy being wheeled down the hall to be euthanized—her arm was already shaved for the needle. Our hearts dropped, we told the staff to stop, and we adopted her right then and there! Today, this incredibly expressive, young lady enjoys being completely spoiled and running free across the Ranchette. She is almost human in her demeanor, loves to tease her brothers, and firmly believes she belongs at the absolute center of attention.

Meet Gracie 
Gracie is a deeply loved member of our family and a true symbol of what it means to fight for a second chance. Saved from the absolute brink on a shelter's "Code Red" list, she arrived with the heavy burdens of a very harsh past, battling severe fear and food aggression. With time, safety, and focused devotion, she has completely adapted to the good life and has formed friendship with Tucker. Today, this sweet girl loves living indoors, demands endless head scratches, and is utterly obsessed with the custom "dog ice cream" bones Karine hand-makes for her!

Meet Pedro   
Meet Pedro, the undisputed king of the Ranchette barn! Originally found as a defenseless stray kitten, we brought him home and lovingly nourished him back to full health. Today, this handsome guy splits his time between two very important jobs: sleeping in a quiet, spoiled indoor spot during the day, and roaming the outdoors at night to keep our barn completely mouse-free! Despite his tough hunter instincts, Pedro is incredibly affectionate and can frequently be found curled up taking naps and cuddling with the dogs!

Meet Diablo 
Don’t let the name fool you—Diablo is a master of the easy life! This handsome guy strictly prefers the great indoors and completely refuses to step foot outside. He spends his days mastering the art of lounge, moving from one quiet spot to another and soaking up every lap scratch he can get. However, he takes his one daily job very seriously: every single morning, Diablo acts as the official alarm clock, marching over to notify us the exact moment his brother Pedro is waiting at the door to come inside from his night shift!
